duncan jenkins euro 2012 day one preview
its here at last, the 2012 european championships 2012 which sees the cream de la cream of the entire football world go head to head to see who is the best team in europe. lets get this show on the go.
the tournament starts with a couple of matches which look totally boring tbh honest – poland v greece followed by russia v the cezch republic.
poland are the lowest ranked team in the competition and with that in mind they did very well to qualify. they are the home team so we should see a superp atmosphere. every single seat in the ground will be packed with nice polish people and total nutters alike, and i expect poland to win. look out for sharp shooter levandovski and a winger who’s surname begins with B but i have no idea how to say it or spell it.
russia take on the cezch republics in what is also basically a home game for them. i’ve heard russia used to be in the ukraines so they will have a strong support (also made up of total nutters and also some nice people) to cheer them on. alan dazgoev is in my fantasy football team and he is one of “duncan jenkins’s players to watch very closely”. look out for his silky skills playing behind a big old fashioned number 9, he is certainly capable of weaving a hot knife through the eye of a needle, for the big fella (probably pavychenko) to blaze high wide and mighty.
poland 1-0 greece
russia 2-1 the cezch republics
that concludes duncan jenkins’s preview of day one at euro 2012.
